Spice’n’Space is a Funk band taking fun to the next level.
Through their infectious grooves rooted in the early 70’s Jazz and Funk, the band presents catchy melodies, and a sharp sense of humor, delivering high energy performances every time they hit the stage.
Formed in the midst of the pandemic in 2021 after an unexpected encounter between flutist Mattan Klein and drummer Uria Mader, Spice’n’Space began carving out their own sound and identity.
Since then, the band has released their debut album 'The Funk Thing' (Ubuntu Music, 2023) and toured extensively across Europe and Asia.
In 2026, Spice’n’Space will release their new EP 'The Granola Incident'. Recorded and filmed live in one room, the project channels a pure 70’s retro vibe, and captures the band’s raw energy.

With its current configuration, the band is built upon the Organ trio tradition:
Uria Mader is on the drums, highly influenced by the early works of both James Brown and the Meters, providing the bandstand with his raw and old school style.
On the other hand there is flutist Mattan Klein, with his dynamic and tasteful way of playing he successfully leads the band from catchy and groovy tunes to the more complex and lyrical melodies.
Organist Yonatan Riklis is the third leg of the trio. a deep scholar of the hammond organ and a true jazz and soul jazz musician, seeking his influences from Organists such as Wild Bill Davis and Jimmy Smith.
